#12MMITags2020 Luglio - Agosto: Qual'è la tua porta?

 

Ciao a tutti! E' passato un po' di tempo dall'ultimo post e torno a voi con una nuova tag per la Challenge #12MMITags2020 di Mixed Medi@ Italia.   Il tema di questo mese o meglio, dei mesi di Luglio ed Agosto è 'Qual'è la tua porta?'

Ecco...io sono ossessionata dalle porte...ogni volta che vado in da qualche parte mi ritrovo a fotografarne almeno un paio e più sono vecchie e rovinate e più mi piacciono...                                  Sarà che ho una fervida immaginazione, ma una porta chiusa ha sempre solleticato la mia fantasia... spesso nelle isole greche mi è capitato di vedere bellissime porte invecchiate dal vento e dal sole che si ergevano contro un mare di un blu brillante, oppure girando per le viuzze nei borghi italiani ne ho viste di bellissime, ornate da ferro battuto che nascondevano un giardino segreto...ecco, anche la mia porta nasconde un giardino segreto, un panorama mozzafiato...è vecchia ed un pò rovinata, dal vento, dal sole, dalla vita, ma dietro c'è tanta bellezza.

Hello everyone! Has been a while since my last post and now I'm here to show you a new tag made for the #12MMITags2020 Challenge over at Mixed Medi@ Italia.  This month or better July and August theme is 'Which is your door?'                                             

Well..to tell the truth I'm kinda obsessed with doors...every time I go somewhere I usually take pictures of at least a couple of them and the more aged and worn they are the better....  Maybe it's because of my imagination, but a closed door has always tickled my fantasy and curiosity...often while visiting Greek Islands I have ran into beautiful old doors, aged and worn by wind and sun, the only barrier between me and the bluest of the seas, or strolling through the narrow streets in exquisite italian hamlets my attention caught by beautiful doors with wrought iron decorations, hiding a secret garden from the view of passersby... So...you see, also my door hides a secret garden, a breathtaking panorama...it's old and slightly worn, by the wind, the sun, life...but behind it there's a lot of hidden beauty.

And now, without further ado...here's a brief tutorial for you...as always you will find the supply list at the end of the post..

Per prima cosa ho iniziato ad incollare pezzi di pagine di libro, washi tape e carte varie per creare un pò di movimento, poi ho coperto con uno strato leggero di Heavy White Gesso e timbrato la porta. Intorno ad essa ho poi aggiunto della Pasta Stencil con uno stencil che simula dei mattoni.

First of all I glued to the base few pieces of  book page, washi tape and patterned paper, covered with a thin layer of White Heavy Gesso, then stamped the door. Around it I stenciled the 'cracked walls' with Light Stencil Paste.

Quando tutto era asciutto ho aggiunto il colore, iniziando da quello più chiaro, usando un pennello per coprire la superficie e diluendo con acqua, asciugando dopo ogni passaggio, fino al raggiungimento dell'intensità voluta. Ho ripetuto il tutto con il colore più scuro. Ho aggiunto qualche timbrata per dare più interesse.

When everything was dry I added color starting with the lighter shade, using a brush and adding water to make it 'run' along the surface. Drying between layers I kept adding color until satisfied, then repeated the process with the darker color.

Per colorare i fiori ho deciso di aggiungere semplicemente il colore premendo l'acetato sull'immagine timbrata, poi ho ripassato i particolari per aggiungere le ombre con dei pastelli, infine ho ritagliato in tutto. La porta l'ho colorata con un mix di Distress Oxides e Markers e poi ombreggiata con i Polichromos.

I 'smushed' Distress Oxide Wild Honey onto a piece of acetate, spritzed with water and then pressed it on the stamped image. I added shadows with Polichromos pencils and the fussy cut them. I coloured the door using a mix of Distress Oxides and Markers, shadown always created with Polychromos.

Oggi vi presento una pagina di Art Journal dal sapore 'Steampunk/Industrial', che ho fatto per il Guest DT di AALL&Create.  Ho volutamente mantenuto gli spessori e gli strati al minimo...il mio Art Journal è già lievitato di suo, tanto che faccio fatica a chiuderlo con l'elastico, Lol!

Volevo dare massimo risalto al bellissimo timbro #322 'FLORAL WINGS', disegnato da Olga Heldwein, che fa parte della nuova release uscita a Maggio...

Today I want to show you a 'Steampunk/Industrial' Art Journal page that I have created for AALL&Create Guest DT. I wanted to keep layers and thickness at minimun, since my Art Journal is already a bit bulky and I can't even close it properly anymore, Lol!

At the same time, though I wanted to really draw the attention to the focal point, this beautiful stamp #322 'FLORAL WINGS' designed by Olga Heldwein, and that is part of the new release that came out in May...

Ho timbrato con Versafine Ink Onyx Black su carta riso usando il timbro A4 #142 'EDISON GAME' sempre disegnato da Olga, ho asciugato leggermente e poi incollato alla pagina di Art Journal usando del Gel medium matte. Ho coperto poi alcuni punti con il Gesso Bianco ed asciugato bene.

I stamped with Versafine Ink Onyx Black on rice paper using A4 stamp  #142 'EDISON GAME', also designed by Olga, then adhered on the Journal page using Gel Medium matte, then covered here and there with White Gesso. Dried very well.

Ho usato il colore Frayed Burlap nelle versioni DISTRESS STAIN, DISTRESS OXIDE INK, DISTRESS OXIDE SPRAY Ink...per me è bellissimo vedere come cambia il colore a seconda del medium usato...e comunque il Frayed Burlap rimane uno dei miei colori preferiti!

I have used FRAYED BURLAP to add colour to my page, using DISTRESS STAIN, DISTRESS OXIDE INK and DISTRESS OXIDE SPRAY Ink...to me it's beautiful to see how the colour changes according to the medium used...and by the way, Frayed Burlap still is one of my fave colours!

Ho usato lo Stencil #71 'STEAM COGS' disegnato...indovinate un pò? Ovvio, dalla bravissima Olga, con i seguenti DISTRESS INKS: Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo e Ground Espresso ed il Blending Tool, poi ho timbrato con il Timbro #363 'QUIRKY COBBLES' disegnato da Autour de Mwa, e parte della nuova release. Per aggiungere le timbrate ho usato il Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap.

I have used Stencil #71 'STEAM COGS' designed by...guess who? Yes, it's her, the talented Olga
with the following DISTRESS INKS: Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso with a Blending Tool, then added a bit more of interest with Stamp #363 'QUIRKY COBBLES' designed by Autour de Mwa, always part of the new release. To stamp I used Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap.

Ora va bene limitare gli strati, ma adoro usare il washi tape con i DISTRESS CRAYONS per aggiungere interesse...qui ho usato il Designer Tape 'French' di Tim Holtz con i colori Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo e Black Soot. Mi piace usare i Distress Crayon per 'definire' la mia pagina e darle un'aspetto 'vissuto'.

Now...that's ok keeping the page quite simple and flat, but I love adding interest using washi tape with DISTRESS CRAYONS ...here I have used Designer Tape 'French' by Tim Holtz with  Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Black Soot.. I really like using Distress Crayons to 'define' my page and give it a 'distressed aged' look.

E qui mi sono dimenticata di fare le foto di alcuni passaggi, quindi ve li racconto a voce:
Ho stampato questa meravigliosa ala con il Versafine Onyx Black...dai ma non è bellissima...io più la guardo e più me ne innamoro...allora dicevo...ho coperto poi il tutto con uno strato di Gesso Clear.
In pratica lo uso per tutte le immagini che timbro, mi permette di usare anche cartoncini non propriamente da acquerello e colorare l'immagine con qualsiasi medium.
Per colorare questa ho usato i pennarelli Tombow Dual Brush, poi ho ombreggiato intorno alle lampadine usando i Polychromos Dark Sepia e Soft Black.
Ho stampato di nuovo l'immagine, ho ritagliato le lampadine ed ho aggiunto qualche ombreggiatura leggera. Ho stampato la lampadina più grossa (che è un particolare del timbro A4 usato per lo sfondo) ed aggiunto qualche tocco di colore, poi ho iniziato ad incollare i vari elementi .

And this is when I realized that hadn't taken more pictures of  in-between steps, so here we go:
I stamped this beautiful wing using Versafine Onyx Black...c'mon isn't it gorgeous? The more I look at it the more I love it...anyway...I covered all the image with Gesso Clear, this step helps me when I want to add color using water based media, like watercolour crayons or Distress Markers or Tombow Dual Brush pens, like I did in this case. Then I added more shadows around the light bulbs using Polychromos pencils by Faber-Castell, Dark Sepia and Soft Black.
Stamped again the image and fussy cut few elements, adding very subtle shadows, I stamped also a bigger light bulb (which is part of the A4 stamp used as background), added few touches of colour and fussy cut it, then began to glue down the pieces.

Ho timbrato un cartoncino con il Timbro #280 'ENUMERATED' sempre disegnato da Olga, ho invecchiato il tutto usando i Distress Ink Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo e Ground Espresso, poi ho ritagliato le immagini che volevo utilizzare e sfruttando la lenta asciugatura dei Distress le ho ricoperte con la Polvere da Embossing Baked Texture 'Vintage Beeswax' di Seth Apter...adoro l'effetto invecchiato che da questa polvere.
Ho finito di incollare gli altri elementi, ho aggiunto i sentiments usando gli Stickers Small Talk di Tim Holtz e la mia pagina è finita.

I stamped a piece of cardstock using Stamp #280 'ENUMERATED' always designed by Olga, then aged the image using Distress Inks Rusty Hinge, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso, cut out the images I wanted to use then, taking advantage of the slow drying time of the Distress inks I covered everything with Seth Apter's Baked Texture 'Vintage Beeswax' embossing powder ...I really love the aged look you can achieve with this powder.
Finished to glue down all the elements, then added sentiments using Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers and my page is done.

Simon Says... TAG IT!

Senza dilungarmi troppo, che già questo post sarà lunghetto, passo a presentarvi la mia versione della SFIDA DEL LUNEDI' sul Blog di SIMON SAYS STAMP: TAG IT! - Cioè la sfida della settimana è fare una Tag, ed i prodotti nello spotlight sono quelli di Tim Holtz.. ma daiiii...ditelo che mi stavate aspettando...he he he...

Hello everyone and welcome back on these pages! Without further ado, since this will be a quite long post, here's my take on this week's challenge on SIMON SAYS STAMP MONDAY CHALLENGE Blog: TAG IT! - I mean, guys...the challenge is to make a Tag, showcasing Tim Holtz products? C'mon...say it...you were waiting for me, right? he he he....

Per questo progetto ho usato una Mini Tag Etcetera, che tanto mini non è visto che misura circa 20,5 x 11,5 cm, cioè 8x4 1/2 inches. L'ho ricoperta con un foglio di Worn Wallpaper usando il Distress Collage Medium Vintage, ho ritagliato l'eccesso e distressato i bordi con carta vetrata.

Ho aggiunto alcune pennellate di Medium qua e là per aumentare il tocco Vintage, e poi ho ricoperto tutto con Gesso Clear, per togliere l'effetto lucido - che a me personalmente non piace, specie su progetti dai toni Vintage come questo, ma ripeto è un gusto personale, quindi potete saltare questo step.

For this project I have used an Etcetera Mini Tag, which is not mini at all, since measures 8"x4 1/2".

I covered with a sheet of Worn Wallpaper using Distress Collage Medium Vintage to adhere it. Cut out the excess and distressed the edges with sand paper. Added few more strokes of Medium to enhance the Vintage look, and once dry covered everything with Clear Gesso, to erase the 'shine effect' - I don't really like a shiny look expecially on Vintage projects, but it's just personal taste, so if it doesn't bother you, just skip this step.

Per il passo successivo ho aggiunto dei dettagli con lo stencil e la pasta stencil, fatto asciugare e poi dei pezzi di design tape in alcuni punti

For the next step I added few details using Roses Stencil and stenci paste, let that air dry and then added few pieces of design tape.

Ho poi timbrato le rose dal set 'Lady Rose' con il Versafine Onyx Black e le ho colorate una prima volta con il D.I. Victorian Velvet ed un pennello a serbatoio.

I stamped the roses from the stamp set 'Lady Rose' using Versafine ink Onyx Black, then added some colour using D.I. Victorian Velvet and a water brush.

Con il blending tool ho passato una mano leggera di D.I. Vintage Photo sulle immagini e poi ho intensificato il colore con Victorian Velvet e le ombre con i pastelli Polychromos Dark Sepia e Black Soft.

With a blending tool I added a light layer of  D.I. Vintage Photo on the stamped images, then deepened the colour with Victorian Velvet and shadows using Polychromos pastels Dark Sepia and Black Soft.

Ho aggiunto un po' di colore alla Tag, prima con il D.O. spray Victorian Velvet, aggiunto acqua e fatto colare. Asciugato, tamponato eccesso e poi ho aggiunto D.O. Pumice Stone e Frayed Burlap, premendo su un pezzo di acetato, spruzzato con acqua e premuto a sua volta sulla tag in vari punti.

Fatto asciugare molto bene e poi ho usato i Distress Crayons Vintage Photo e Black Soot per scurire il design tape, le parti in rilievo ed i bordi della Tag.

Added some colour with D.O. spray Victorian Velvet, spritzed with water to let it run a bit, then dried and lifted the excess of water with a paper towel, then 'smushed' D.O. Pumice Stone and Frayed Burlap on a piece of acetate, added water and pressed onto the tag, here and there. Let it dry very well, then with Distress Crayons Vintage Photo and Black Soot darkened around the design tape, the raised bits and along the borders of the Tag.

Per ultimo ho fustellato questa cornice, coperta con gesso nero, poi ho aggiunto i D.C. metallics Tarnished Brass e Antiqued Bronze, con qualche tocco di Black Soot per dare l'idea dell'invecchiato.

As final touch, I die cut this frame, covered with black gesso and then with D.C. metallics Tarnished Brass and Antiqued Bronze, with few touches of Black Soot, for a worn look.

Ho poi assemblato il tutto, ritagliando le rose, aggiungendo della garza e dei pezzi di pizzo, una farfalla dal set Ephemera Thrift Shop, ed infine una Baseboard Doll (sono le nuove Paper Dolls in versione rinforzata ed ovviamente le adoro!)  ed una Quote Chip per finire il tutto.

Started to assemble all the pieces: fussy cut the roses, added some gauze, scraps of lace , a butterfly from the Ephemera pack Thrift Shop, a Baseboard Doll (which is a thicker and sturdier version of Paper Dolls, and obviously totally love them!) and a Quote Chip as final touch.

Ciao a tutti! Anche per il 2020 continua l'avventura di Mixed Medi@ Italia con le 12 Tags, e per Febbraio abbiamo pensato ad un'approccio diverso per quanto riguarda il tema romantico, quindi ecco la nostra Moodboard, con una combo grigio/rosa.

Hello everyone! I am very happy we decided to continue our adventure with #12Tags for Mixed Medi@ Italia  Facebook Group for another year. Here below you will find our February Moodboard...just a different take on the 'romantic theme' with a gray/pink combo.

Ho usato del cartoncino bianco spesso, passato una mano di Gesso Clear, poi ho posizionato lo stencil #45 nel mezzo ed ho spruzzato tutta la tag prima con Distress Oxide ink spray Victorian Velvet, asciugato e poi spruzzato in alcuni punti con Pumice Stone, ho tolto lo stencil ed asciugato. Poi sullo stencil #67 ho passato il Distress Oxide Seedless Preserve e poi il Distress ink Hickory Smoke, ho spruzzato con acqua ed ho premuto il tutto sulla tag, tamponando con un pezzo di carta. Asciugato di nuovo poi ho usato sempre lo stesso stencil con D.I. Hickory Smoke ed un blending tool.

I have used a thick white cardostock as base, primed with Clear Gesso, then put stencil #45 in the middle of the tag and sprayed with Distress Oxide ink spray Victorian Velvet, dried then sprayed again with  Pumice Stone. Took the stencil off and dried again. On stencil #67 I have 'smooshed' Distress Oxide Seedless Preserve then Distress ink Hickory Smoke, mist with water and pressed on the tag. Dried then used the same stencil with D.I. Hickory Smoke and a blending tool.

Ho aggiunto della pasta Stencil Light con lo stencil 'Roses' e lasciato asciugare all'aria.

Added some Light Stencil paste through 'Roses' stencil then let air dry.

Su cartoncino per acquerello ho timbrato questi fiori con Versafine 'Smokey Gray' e poi li ho ritagliati con la fustella dedicata. Ho aggiunto poi dei toni di colore con dei pastelli acquarellabili.

A parte ho fustellato la Tour Eiffel su cartoncino bianco, ricoperto poi con Distress Stain Brushed Pewter, ho ritagliato una piuma, coperta con Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke, gocce di Seedless Preserve e qualche tocco di Metallique wax Old Silver. Ho timbrato dei fiori a parte, sempre colorati con pastelli acquarellabili e ritagliati.

Ho aggiunto tutti i vari dettagli: del vellum, un pezzetto di cartoncino grigio, del filo bianco, la Tour Eiffel, i fiori, la piuma, una farfalla dal pacco di Ephemera 'Thrift Shop', una Paper Doll e per finire come sentiment una Quote chip.

On watercolour cardstock I stamped the flowers above using Versafine Smokey Gray ink, then die cut with the matching die. Added light colouring with watercolour pencils.

Die cut the Eiffel Tower on white cardstock, then covered with Distress Stain Brushed Pewter, die cut a feather and coloured with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke, few droplets of Seedless Preserve, then highlight the borders using Metallique wax Old Silver.

Stamped a branch of flowers, coloured with watercolour pencils then fussy cut them.

I added all the details on the tag: a strip of vellum, gray cardstock, the die cuts, the flowers, white thread, a butterfly from 'Thrift Shop' Ephemera pack, a Paper Doll and a Quote chip as sentiment.
