12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix - December...

Ciao a tutti! E' incredibile che sia già Dicembre...un intero anno di Tags!!! E' stato un bellissimo viaggio, e devo ringraziare tantissimo Tim Holtz per aver condiviso con noi le sue idee e le sue tecniche...quella della 'Technique Remix' è stata davvero geniale!!!
In questo arco di tempo ho imparato a mettermi in gioco...provare tecniche nuove...cercare di arrivare ad un risultato soddisfacente senza avere tutti i materiali elencati...è stata dura, è stato intenso, è stato fantastico!

Hello everyone! It's quite incredible that it's December already...a whole year long of Tags!!! It has been an amazing journey, and must thank Tim Holtz so much for sharing with us his ideas and techniques...I must say that the 'Technique Remix' has been a brilliant idea, just genius!!!
During this year I have learnt to challenge myself...experimenting new techniques...trying to achieve a good result without all the materials listed...has been tough, has been intense, has been fantastic!

Quindi, senza ulteriori indugi ecco la mia versione della Tag di Dicembre della serie 12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix:

So, without further ado, here's my take on the 12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix - December:

Seguendo i tutorial di Tim ho decorato il background della Tag utilizzando lo Stencil Flourish, ho aggiunto un'occhiello con la Crop-a-dile ed ho fatto una cucitura tutto intorno...

Following Tim's tutorials I have decorated the background with the Flourish  'Layering Stencil', then added an eyelet with my Crop-a-dile and hand-stiched all around...

Dopodichè ho iniziato a pensare agli abbellimenti...ho preparato dei mini collage utilizzando il blocco di carte 12x12'' 'Destinations' , sempre di Tim Holtz...nel tappo ho incollato il '25', poi ho coperto il tutto con vernice cracklè ed una volta asciutto ho dato risalto alle crepe utilizzando i Distress Crayons, Walnut Stain intorno al bordo e Picket Fence nel mezzo.
Ho voluto dare un tocco Steampunk (ovviamente...Lol!) aggiungendo una lampadina, dei mini ingranaggi di metallo ed una mini chiave 'arrugginita' - facciamo finta che sia la 'chiave di Babbo Natale' che ne dite?- Anche per le campanelle ho voluto aggiungerne una 'rusty'!
Ed ora il pezzo forte...la scritta 'MERRY'. Neanche a dirlo, ovviamente non ho la Shadow-Press Station che Tim ha usato, quindi cercando di fare di necessità virtù, ho utilizzato le lettere ritagliate con le fustelle 'Thinlits - Alphanumeric'  di Tim Holtz per creare un effetto 'debossing' sul cartoncino a righe (blocco 12x12'' 'French Industrial') e poi con una penna per embossing ho creato l'ombra ed embossata con la polvere oro. Quasi uguale...ehm...(scusa Tim!)

Afterwards I started assembling the embellishments...I have prepared mini collages using Tim's 'Destinations' 12x12'' paper pad,,,in the bottle cap I have glued the '25', covered it with crackle  glaze and when dry I enhanced the cracks using Distress Crayons - Walnut Stain on the outside and Picket Fence in the middle.
I wanted to add a Steampunk touch (of course...Lol!) with a small lightbulb, mini metal gears and a rusty mini key - let's pretend it's 'Santa's key', shall we? - I also added a small rusty bell between the golden ones!
And now it's time for the main piece...the word 'MERRY'. It's quite useless to say that I do not have the Shadow-Press Station that Tim used in his Tag, so I have thought of the best way to achieve the same result...sort of...! I have used the die-cut letters from Tim Holtz 'Alphanumeric' Thinlits on a piece of cardstock from Tim's 12x12'' paper pad 'French Industrial' to re-create a 'debossed' effect and then with an embossing pen and embossing gold powder I have created the shadow. Almost the same...ehm...(Sorry Tim!)

E siamo arrivati anche alla fine di quest'ultima Tag...è stata una bella avventura...chissà cosa preparerà Tim per il prossimo anno??? Io non vedo l'ora...e voi?

So here we are, at the end of this last Tag...has been a great adventure...I wonder what Tim will come up with the next year? I really can't wait...what about you?

12 Tags of 2016: November

Ciao a tutti!!! Eccomi finalmente tornata in pista con i lavori ed il mio povero blog, che è stato un po' abbandonato...
Quindi, quale migliore occasione se non quella di presentare la mia Tag di Novembre  per le 12 Tags del 2016 di Tim Holtz?

Hello everyone!!! Finally I'm back with my 'crafty things' and my poor little blog...I've been sort of M.I.A., lately, so it's good to be back to normal stuff...
Sooo, I couldn't think of a better occasion than this  to post my November Tag, for the 12 Tags of 2016 by Tim Holtz!

Ho aspettato un po'...ehm...tanto....perchè mi dovevano arrivare i miei nuovissimi 'Remnant Rubs - Elements' di Tim Holtz, quindi stamattina mi sono dedicata alla mia tag...a differenza di quella di Tim, che è incentrata sul Thanksgiving, ho deciso per un'approccio legato all'immaginazione, ai viaggi che si possono fare con la fantasia, alle avventure che viviamo quando ci immergiamo in un libro. Per questo ho usato i 'Cling Stamps - Schoolhouse' di Stampers Anonymous, cioè i libri ed il mappamondo.

I waited a bit...ehm...much...because I had to receive my brand new 'Remnant Rubs - Elements' by Tim Holtz, so this morning I dedicated myself to my tag...instead of focusing about Thanksgiving, like the original Tim's Tag, I decided to go for something related to Imagination, traveling with our fantasy,  the adventures that we live when we are reading a book. That's why  I have used Stampers Anonymous ' Cling Stamps - Schoolhouse', the books and the globe.

Ho seguito il tutorial di Tim e ho trovato un nuovo amore...il 'Mottled effect', cioè quell'effetto 'macchiato' che si vede...troppo divertente da realizzare! Poi ho cercato di dare dimensionalità sia al dorso dei libri che ai continenti del mappamondo...non so se si vede bene dalle foto, ma vi assicuro che sono in rilievo!
Oltre alle Thinlits 'Alphanumerical' ho usato anche la parola 'Adventure' del set 'Journey', e poi l'ho semplicemente ripassata con una penna gel argento.

I have followed Tim's tutorial and found a new love... the 'Mottled effect'...so much fun to achieve! Then I have tried to give dimension both to the books and the continents of the globe...don't know if you can see that in the pictures, though, but I promise they are dimensional!
I have used the 'Alphanumerical' Thinlits to cut out the word 'IMAGINE', and also used the word 'ADVENTURE' from the set 'Journey'. Then I just covered it with a silver gel pen.

Ho aggiunto qualche charms in metallo ed un embellishment della linea Idea-ology di Tim, che ho sporcato con il Distress Crayon Picket Fence per far risaltare la parola 'FIND'.

I added few charms and a Tim Holtz Idea-ology metal embellishment, on which I have smudged some Picket Fence Distress Crayon, just to enhance the word 'FIND'.

Ed ora...spazio all'immaginazione...
And now...just Imagine...

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - Remix...OCTOBER

Ciao a tutti! Eccomi a voi con la mia versione della Tag di Ottobre di Tim Holtz...
Come al solito ho cercato di ovviare alla mancanza degli elementi usati da Tim con quanto avevo a disposizione...in particolar modo il pezzo principale, cioè i 'Sizzix Monsters'...che non mi piacciono proprio...quindi ho utilizzato delle etichette 'particolari' (cioè delle 'printables' grazie a 'The Graphic Fairy' e 'Lia Griffith') per la base del collage, ed un dettaglio per il punto focale.

Hello everyone! Here's to you my take on the '12 Tags of 2016 - Remix Techniques' by Tim Holtz, October release... As usual I don't have all the elements used by Tim, so I had to do the best I could with my stash...in particular with the focal point of the tag, that is the 'Sizzix Monster'...sorry Tim...I don't like it...so I have used 'vintage' labels (that is digital printables, thanks to 'The Graphic Fairy' and to 'Lia Griffith') for my collage base, and a detail for the focal point.

Ho incollato le etichette, sovrapponendole un po' secondo le istruzioni di Tim, poi le ho ripassate con la vernice Crackle Glaze della DecoArt Media, stendendola con le dita. Una volta asciutta ho ripassato le crepe con i 'Distress Crayons' (uno dei miei ultimi acquisti...li adoro...)
Ho poi ritagliato tutto ciò che fuoriusciva dalla Tag, ritagliato ed invecchiato il teschio ed incollato un paio di rondelle per un tocco Steampunk!

I have glued down all the labels, following Tim steps, then I covered the all thing with DecoArt Media Crackle Glaze, using my finger. Once dried I enhanced all the cracks using 'Distress Crayons' (I have purchased them lately and I totally love them)
I cut off the excess, then fussy cut and distressed the skull and added few gears for a Steampunk touch!

12 Tags of 2016 - September...

Eccomi....in ritardo come al solito, ma anche questo mese sono riuscita a mettere mano alla Tag di Tim! Quindi senza ulteriori indugi ecco a voi la mia versione della Tag di Settembre per la serie: '12 Tags of 2016' di Tim Holtz!

Here I am..late as ever, but I managed to dip myself into Tim's Tag! So without further ado, here's to you my take on the '12 Tags of 2016' by Tim Holtz for the month of September!

Fare questa Tag mi ha messo di fronte a delle belle sfide, ma sono molto soddisfatta del risultato!

Ho seguito i vari step indicati nel tutorial di Tim e quando sono arrivata al background della Tag, a dir la verità non ero molto convinta dell'effetto patina marmorizzato, fino a che non ho asciugato tutto...devo dire però che l'effetto sulle mie mani è stato molto convincente!!!

The making of this Tag has been really challenging, but I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome!

I have followed all the steps Tim has explained in his tutorial until the background...to tell the truth I couldn't see the 'patina' effect on the Tag untill I dried it...sure my fingers and hands were amazingly marbled!!!

Non potevo non aggiungere qualche tocco di 'ruggine' Steampunk...ecco qualche dettaglio...

Of course I had to add few Steampunk 'rusty' touches...here's the details...

E' tutto...Pronta per la prossima Tag...!

12 Tags of 2016 - August...LET'S SOAR!

Ciao di nuovo...con un po' di ritardo vi propongo la mia versione della Tag di AGOSTO, per la serie 12 TAGS OF 2016 di TIM HOLTZ...

Hello again...I definitely took my time for this, so, without further ado here's my take on the AUGUST Tag, for the 12 TAGS OF 2016 by TIM HOLTZ...

Come sempre questo Remix di tecniche è molto interessante e devo dire che il background della Tag mi ha dato molta soddisfazione. Ho usato solo Stormy Sky Ink e poi ho invecchiato il tutto usando Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain e Black Soot. ed il risultato mi piace molto!

As usual the Techniques Remix is way awesome and I had so much fun with this Tag background. I have used only Stormy Sky Ink and when it dried I distressed it with Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot...and I must say that I am very  pround of it!

Seguendo le istruzioni di Tim, ho composto il tutto, ma ho impiegato un po' di tempo per trovare le parole giuste...'Non lasciarti imprigionare dai tuoi limiti'...Queste parole sono un po' un mantra per me...
Ho deciso inoltre di non incollare tutte le tessere, per non coprire lo sfondo...

Following Tim's instructions I gathered all the pieces, but took me some time to think about the proper words to use...Finally I came up with the right ones...'Do not be confined by your limits'...I use these words like a personal mantra...
I also decided not to glue down all the tiles, because I didn't want to cover all the background...

Hello everyone! Here I am, at last...You thought I could miss July Tag? Almost...but better late than never...
So, without further ado, here's to you my version of the July Tag of the '12 Tags of 2016' series by Tim Holtz!

Sono piuttosto soddisfatta di come è venuta questa tag...ne avevo già fatta una di prova (qui la potete vedere) ma aspettavo da tempo di ordinare le Thinlits della serie 'Journey' di Tim Holtz e finalmente questa mattina è arrivato il corriere con la mia 'Happy Mail' e mi sono messa subito al lavoro...Qui sotto potete vedere dei particolari.

I'm pretty satisfied with myself about this Tag...I already made one as a sample (you can see it here) but I had waited for so long to get Tim's Thinlits 'Journey' words and finally this morning I have received my 'Happy Mail' so jumped back to work...You can see few details here below.

Ho aggiunto anche un tocco 'Steampunk' con delle rondelle ed un charm in metallo che avevo da anni, un nastrino decorato ed una mini spilla con infilata una piccola chiave...

Added a small 'Steampunk' touch with a couple of washers and a metal charm I had in my stash for ages, a nice ribbon and a tiny safety pin to hold a small key...

Hi! Here I am, at last, with the 12 TAGS OF 2016 - JUNE challenge, @ TIM HOLTZ Blog...here it is my version...'Travel the World...Enjoy the Journey!'
Apparently I'm in urgent need of a vacation...!

Ho preparato i vari step seguendo le indicazioni di Tim nel suo Blog, ma utilizzando materiale che avevo a disposizione, come potete vedere dalle foto qui in basso...alla fine mi sono divertita tanto a preparare questa tag...mescolare le varie tecniche per me, che mi accosto per il primo anno a questo genere di sfide è veramente interessante e mi permette di esplorare materiali e metodi diversi ai quali non avrei mai pensato!

I have followed the steps shown by Tim in his blog, using materials I had in my stash, as you can see in the photos below...I really had fun making this Tag...as it is the first year I challenge myself with these sort of things, mixing and re-mixing all these techniques for me has been really interesting and compelling as it allows me to explore different ways and materials I would have never thought about!

Impossible to RESIST....

Per questa sfida il grande Tim ha proposto una tecnica remix davvero interessante, che include quella del 'Tissue Tape Resist'. Non l'avevo mai provata e mi sono innamorata...Fantastica!

For this one the awesome Tim used a very interesting remix technique, which includes the 'Tissue Tape Resist'. Never tried before and I'm hooked...Fantastic!

January Tag...in Aprile!

Finalmente il mio viaggio a ritroso nel tempo per mettermi in pari con le 12 Tags of 2016 è terminato...Ecco quindi la mia Tag di Gennaio...

Quale miglior opportunità di usare i miei 'nuovi' timbri di Tim Holtz e nello stesso tempo dare sfogo alla mia ossessione per lo Steampunk? Il risultato mi piace molto e devo dire che è stato molto stimolante cercare di rimettermi in pari con le Tags che avevo perso!

Alla prossima quindi...Maggio è vicino...!

What better opportunity to use my 'new' Tim Holtz' Stamps and at the same time indulge in my obsession with Steampunk? I love the  result, and I have to say that it was fun trying to keep up with the Tags I left behind!

12 Tags of 2016 - APRIL...My World...

Ciao a tutti! Anche questo mese mi cimento con le Tags proposte da Tim Holtz...
Devo dire che l'effetto mosaico non è tra i miei preferiti, però è stato divertente mettere insieme tutti i pezzi...un pò faticoso, ma divertente!!!
Non avendo i prodotti usati da Tim, ho dovuto 'barare', ma nel complesso l'effetto mi piace. Vi lascio con qualche foto dei particolari...

Hi everyone! This month continues my take on the 12 Tags challenge in Tim Holtz blog...
I have to say that the mosaic effect is not my favourite, but it was fun to put all the pieces together...a little challenging, but fun!!!
Since I don't have Tim's products, I had to 'cheat' a little, but I like the result. I leave you with some detailed pictures...

Per fare il background che ricorda il legno, avevo pensato di embossare un timbro che ho sulla tag...ma cosa fai quando il tuo Heat Tool ti muore mentre ne hai più bisogno?

Dopo un primo momento di panico, ho ripiegato sulla tecnica del 'Resist', quindi ho timbrato la tag usando del gesso liquido, ho asciugato e poi l'ho ripassata con i Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain e Black Soot (i miei colori preferiti...grunge!)

For the background I wanted to emboss a 'woody' stamp I have in my stash, but what do you do when your Heat Tool dies when you need it the most?

After a moment or two or shear panic, I decided for a Resist technique, so I stamped the image with a fluid white gesso, dried and then distressed with the Distress Inks; Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain e Black Soot  (my favourite colours...grunge!)

E questo è tutto...alla prossima sfida!!!

Voglio proseguire nella mia avventura con le 12 Tags of 2016, cercando di mettermi al pari. 

Andando a ritroso nel tempo ho pensato di fare la mia versione della TAG di FEBBRAIO  e quale migliore occasione per utilizzare una foto a me molto cara...uno scatto d'epoca dei miei genitori...anche se in ritardo con i tempi...C'E' SEMPRE TEMPO PER L'AMORE...

I want to continue in my adventure with the 12 Tags of 2016, trying to keep up. This time though I will go back in time to give my take on the FEBRUARY Tag, and what better time to use a photo that I hold dear to my heart...a vintage picture of my parents...so, even if I'm late...THERE IS ALWAYS TIME FOR LOVE...

Ho cercato di seguire le linee guida di TIM, ma non avendo tutti i materiali usati, ho fatto di necessità virtù..

I tried to follow TIM's guide lines, but I didn't have all the materials used for the project, so I made the best of what I had in my stash...

 FOTO 1: Ho sporcato la tag con il Distress Ink Antique Linen, poi ho spuzzato con acqua ed asciugato.

I stained the tag with Distress Ink Antique Linen, mist it with water and dried.

FOTO 2: Ho passato il Distress Ink Tea Dye sul retro di uno stencil, spruzzato con acqua, l'ho premuto sulla tag ed asciugato.

I used Distress Ink Tea Dye on the back of a stencil and mist it with water, then I printed down on the tag and dried.

FOTO 3: Con la Modeling Paste e uno stencil di Tim Holtz ho aggiunto dei tocchi qua e là e prima che asciugasse ho cosparso la pasta con dei pigmenti in polvere color bronzo che avevo da un sacco di tempo. Ho aspettato un pò e prima ho asciugato con un phon, in modo che i pigmenti in eccesso 'volassero' via, poi ho asciugato con l'Heat Tool, con movimenti circolari e non troppo vicino alla tag.

With Modeling Paste and a Tim Holtz layering stencil I added few touches here and there. and sprinkled with bronze powdered pigment I had in my stash for ages! I waited a little bit then I first used a hair-dryer, to get rid of the excess pigments. Then used a Heat Tool, in a circular motion and not too close to the tag.

Ho scannerizzato la foto dei miei genitori, l'ho stampata su un cartoncino bianco a grammatura spessa, ho ritagliato ed invecchiato la foto strappandone i bordi e piegando gli angoli e poi ho ripassato il tutto con il Distress Ink Vintage Photo, ho spruzzato un pò di acqua ed ho asciugato.

L'ho incollata alla tag usando del nastro biadesivo spessorato, ho aggiunto delle timbrate di cuoricini con il Distress Ink Fired Brick, ho embossato una scritta ritagliata con la Big Shot ed ho sporcato i bordi di un cuore di cartoncino rosso, prima con Vintage Photo e poi con il Distress Ink Walnut Stain.

Ho aggiunto del pizzo e del nastro di raso ed attaccato tutti i pezzi...Voilà!

I scanned an old photo of my parents, printed on a heavy white cardstock, trimmed and aged it by tearing it up and distressing with Distress Ink Vintage Photo, sprayed with water and dried.

Glued it down on the tag using a double sided tape, added few stamped hearts using Distress Ink Fired Brick. Embossed a word I die-cut with the Big Shot and aged a Heart shape with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Added lace and ribbon and attached  all the embellishments...Voilà!

That's a Tag!!!

Dopo il post sulla mia versione della 'Tag di Marzo' di Tim Holtz ho deciso di sperimentare ancora un po' questa tecnica fantastica, ed ecco il risultato...Questa si che è una TAG!!!!

After the post about my version of  the 'March Tag' by Tim Holtz  I have decided to play and experiment a little bit more with this fantastic technique, and this is what I came up with....This is a TAG!!!

Purtroppo, non avendo i fantastici 'Distress Crayons' di Tim, ho usato i Distress Inks e i Gelatos...ma è stato davvero divertente....

Unfortunately I don't have Tim's awesome 'Distress Crayons', so I used Distress Inks and Gelatos...but is was fun....

As you may know, for some years now, on his blog there is a 'challenge'  about a different Tag for every month of the year...Obviously I'm late for the first two months of 2016, BUT I have decided to give it a go with March, so without further ado, here's to you my NOT tag, inspired by the Maestro...

Lo so...tecnicamente NON è una Tag...ma...ci proviamo...
