Ciao a tutti! Ma quanto tempo è passato dall'ultimo post? Un po' mi vergogno per questa prolungata assenza...comunque...eccomi qui di nuovo con la nuova challenge del mese di Aprile per Mixed Medi@ Italia - #12MMItags ...tema...rullo di tamburi....STEAMPUNK!

Hello everyone! My gosh...I've just realized how long has been since my last post...and I'm kinda ashamed about that...anyhow...here I am with the new challenge for the Facebook Group Mixed Medi@ Italia - #12MMItags - April - theme is....tadaaaa....STEAMPUNK!

Si comincia / Let's start:

Prima di tutto ho embossato un pezzo di cartoncino per acquerello con la 3D Texture Fade 'Mechanics' di Tim Holtz, ho ritagliato il bordo superiore con la fustella 'Tim Holtz Alterations  - On the Edge - Steampunk', tagliato a misura e spruzzato con i Distress Oxide Spray Inks: Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade, Walnut Stain, di volta in volta diluendo il colore con un po' di acqua ed asciugando ad ogni passaggio.

First of all I have dry-embossed a piece of watercolour paper using Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades 'Mechanics', die-cut the border using 'Tim Holtz Alterations  - On the Edge Die - Steampunk', cut to a Tag size and sprayed with Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray Inks: Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade, Walnut Stain. Sprayed with water to dilute the colour and dried it well before adding another one.

Con un blending tool ho aggiunto i Distress Inks Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso, Black Soot, poi ho aggiunto dei tocchi di Mermaid Lagoon, sia Distress Oxide Spray che Distress ink, per dare l'idea della patina ossidata.

With a blending tool I have added Distress Inks Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso, Black Soot, then few touches of  Mermaid Lagoon, both Distress Oxide Spray and Distress ink, to achieve a patina effect.

Ho usato le Rust Effect Paste di Finnabair per aggiungere dei tocchi di ruggine qua e là e sugli ingranaggi ritagliati con la fustella Tim Holtz Alterations Gadget Gears #2...per l'effetto patina ho usato dei tocchi di Acrilico 'Americana - Desert Turquoise' della DecoArt. Ho aggiunto una scritta con la Stencil Light Paste di TommyArt, un pezzo di vellum timbrato con lo Stazon Jet Black ed il timbro 'Time Flies' di AALL&Create.

I have used Finnabair Rust Effect Paste here and there on the Tag and on the die cut gears (Tim Holtz Alterations Gadget Gears #2)...to create the patina I have used DecoArt Americana Acrylic paint 'Desert Turquoise', then stenciled a sentiment using TommyArt Stencil light paste and a piece of vellum stamped with AALL&Create 'Time Flies' stamp and Stazon Jet Black ink.

Con una pasta modellabile e degli stampi in silicone ho creato i pezzi focali: l'orologio l'ho coperto con gesso bianco e poi ripassato con la cera di Finnabair Antique Brilliance Mystic Turquoise, mentre il viso e le ali li ho ricoperti di gesso nero e poi 'invecchiati' con le cere Finnabair Metallique: Old Silver e Vintage Gold. Ho poi aggiunto degli ingranaggi in metallo e per finire una 'Halloween' Quote Chip di Tim Holtz Idea-Ology.

With modeling clay and silicone molds I have created  my focal elements: I have covered the clock with white gesso, then aged with Finnabair ArtAlchemy wax Antique Brilliance Mystic Turquoise, while painted the face and the wings with black gesso and highlighted with Metallique waxes Old Silver and Vintage Gold. As final touche I have added metal gears and an Idea-Ology Halloween Quote Chip by Tim Holtz.

USE YOUR WINGS - A Steampunk Tag for Scrap&Craft...

Ciao a tutti e benvenuti....come vi avevo anticipato oggi vi parlo del mio ultimo progetto per SCRAP & CRAFT...QUI trovate il post originale... Una Tag STEAMPUNK!

Hello and welcome! Today, as previously hinted, I am showing you my latest project for SCRAP & CRAFT...HERE  you will find the original post... A very STEAMPUNK Tag!

Finalmente ho tra le mani l'embossing folder 3D Texture Fades 'MECHANICS' di Sizzix/Tim Holtz ...che vi posso dire? Ne sono innamorata...la resa è a dir poco fantastica...tutti quei particolari sono assolutamente incredibili! Io sono partita da un pezzo di cartone di recupero, l'ho embossato seguendo le indicazioni di Tim Holtz (cioè spruzzare con acqua e passare 3 volte nella Big Shot...veramente anche 4 visto lo spessore, utilizzando solo 1 cutting plate e la Multipurpose Platform) e ta-daaaà ecco il meraviglioso risultato! Ho incollato sul retro una Tag in chipboard ed ho tagliato l'eccesso, poi ho steso il Clear Gesso di Prima/Finnabair ed ho iniziato ad aggiungere Distress Oxides, Distress Crayons e per ultime le Metallique Wax di Prima/Finnabair...qui sotto  trovate la foto del materiale usato.

Finally I have got the 3D Texture Fades 'MECHANICS' by Sizzix/Tim Holtz in my hands, and what can I say? I'm in love with it...the results are amazing, to say the least...all those details are incredible! I have used a spare cardboard and embossed it following Tim's instructions (that is spritz with water, 3 passages under the Big Shot machine - or similar - actually made 4 because of the thickness of the substrate used, using only 1 cutting pad and the Multipurpose Platform) and ta-daaaaà ...I'm in awe!
I glued on the back a chipboard Tag and cut off the excess, then covered with Prima/Finnabair Clear Gesso and started adding colour with Distress Oxide inks, Distress Crayons and last but not least Metallique Waxed by Prima/Finnabair...here's the pic of the materials used:

Ho messo da parte la tag ed ho iniziato a decorare gli altri elementi...viso e la Chipboard delle ali Steampunk (di Scrapiniec) li ho prima coperti con Heavy Black Gesso di Prima/Finnabair, poi ho aggiunto i tocchi di luce con le Metallique Wax Old Silver e Vintage Gold, mentre cuore e scritta 'USE YOUR WINGS' li ho coperti con gesso bianco e poi con le polveri da embossing Baked Textures di Emerald Creek/Seth Apter...sul cuore ho usato 'Patina Oxide', mentre x la scrittta 2 passaggi di  'Chunky Rust' e poi un tocco di 'Patina Oxide'. Ho assemblato il tutto aggiungendo degli abbellimenti di metallo...

Set the Tag aside and started to decorate the other elements...face and Scrapiniec Steampunk chained wings are painted  with Prima/Finnabair Heavy Black Gesso and highlighted with Metallique waxes Old Silver and Vintage Gold, while for the heart and the 'USE YOUR WINGS' Inscription , I have used white gesso  then embossed with Baked Textures by Emerald Creek/Seth Apter...on the heart I have used  'Patina Oxide', while on the phrase 2 layers of 'Chunky Rust' then a touch of  'Patina Oxide' . Glued everything together, adding some metallic embellishments...
