Le confessioni di una 'Travel Art Journalist' mancata...The confessions of a Travel Art Journaling Failure...

Ciao a tutti, sto facendo un pò di fatica a rientrare nella normalità dopo le ferie...fa troppo caldo e vorrei essere ancora a in spiaggia a godermi un pò di meltemi ed un bel Gyros...quindi per attenuare un pò questo mio 'mal di Grecia' sto approntando il mini album che conterrà le foto, una volta stampate. La struttura è già fatta, devo solo preparare gli abbellimenti...ed ecco la confessione...

Hi everyone, I'm currently struggling with my so-called 'normal life' after my vacation...it's too hot and I wish I could be relaxing on a beach, enjoying a little bit of meltemi and a tasty Gyros...so, in order to easy this longing I have for Greece, I'm preparing a mini-album for the photos and ephemeras of my recent travel. I have already made the structure of the album so I have to make all the embellishments...and here comes the confession...

Ebbene si...volevo fare un pò di Art Journaling mentre ero in viaggio...è da tempo che avevo questa idea in mente e così ho preparato un kit ad hoc, per poter essere portato nel bagaglio in cabina.
Quindi metti, togli, prepara timbri e colori e con l'occasione ho preparato anche il background di alcune Tag, con l'idea di finirle a destinazione, con aggiunta di timbrate, pensieri vari, biglietti, washi tape e quant'altro...

That's right...I wanted to Art Journal while on travel...it's an idea I'm toying with for months now.. so I prepared the perfect kit, to be taken with me in my carry-on bag (actually my only baggage).
Adding, removing, changing colors, pens, stamps and I decided also to decorate the background of few Tags, in order to use them to add thoughts, tickets, washi tape and so on...

Quindi tutto a posto, parto con il mio bel kit da usare a piacimento e....niente...in spiaggia era così rilassante stare sul lettino a godersi l'aria ed il panorama...e poi alla sera, dopo cena ero troppo stanca e non vedevo l'ora di programmare l'uscita del giorno dopo...così il mio kit ha preso l'aria di Naxos ed è ritornato a casa senza essere stato mai usato, PERO' è passato senza problemi ai controlli in andata ed in ritorno, quindi in definitiva ho preparato il KIT PERFETTO PER L'ART JOURNALING IN VIAGGIO! Magari per il prossimo...Lol!

So it's all set and ready, I'm flying with my awesome kit, a wannabe artist on-the-go and...a big NOPE...it was so relaxing under the umbrella at the beach, enjoying the breeze and the landscape...and at night, after dinner I was too tired and busy planning for the next day...so my art kit enjoyed the air of Naxos and came home without being opened once, BUT went through security checks both in Italy and in Greece, so it is safe to say that I came up with THE PERFECT TRAVEL ART JOURNAL KIT! Maybe I'll use it the next time...Lol!

Ed eccomi qui, al punto di partenza, a preparare gli abbellimenti per l'album, e facendomi ispirare dalle foto, ho decorato la prima tag... ho disegnato le silhouette a matita e poi colorate con le PITT artist pens della Faber-Castell, ho aggiunto delle scritte usando i timbri di Heidi Swapp ed un tampone nero della Hero Arts. Come sempre ho usato il Distress Ink pad Black Soot per ripassare i bordi e sul retro incollerò un foglio di notes per il journaling.

So here I am, back to the start, decorating the embellishments for the album: I let the photos inspire me and I made the first tag...sketched the silhouette with a pencil and then colored with PITT artist pens by Faber-Castell. Added words using Heidi Swapp stamps and Hero Arts black pad, then I distressed all around the Tag using the Distress Ink pad Black Soot. On the back I'm going to add some journaling.
